The Gordon Ramsay News Summary for March 4

As the (lack of) controversy dies down, maybe we can get back to the normal Gordon Ramsay news – oh no, wait – trashy ‘exposes’ is what is normally dished up!

Hopefully this is the end of the Glasgow Rangers and Gordon Ramsay Story

Gordon Ramsay: He shoots, he scores, he tells whoppers, but don’t we all?
As Gordon Ramsay’s football fantasies are exposed, we examine the human tendency to embellish the past
For such a silly, unnecessary lie, Gordon Ramsay’s claim to have played first-team football for Glasgow Rangers, before his career was cut short by an injury, fooled an awful lot of people for an awfully long time.
The claim was not just exaggerated, but patently ridiculous. The Rangers first-team coach who released him, according to the chef, was manager of Dundee at the time. Ramsay seems to have played in one testimonial match, and that was it. But the myth of the tragically injured football star who re-invented himself as a chef grew and grew. It just seemed so plausible. It even explained all those f-words.

Loud-mouth celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has had to eat some crow: turns out his claim to have played briefly for Glasgow Rangers, a prominent soccer team, is just plain false.
He has said for years, and wrote in his autobiography, that he played three first-team games with the club, then suffered an injury that made him turn to other work.

Ramsay’s response: “Any inaccuracies regarding the details of this period,” his public relations guy said, “can be explained by the fact that all this occurred nearly 25 years ago.” Hmm

Janet Street-Porter: A good tantrum can be better than diplomacy – Independent – London,England,UK
Now we regard a good tantrum as an important part of a good night’s entertainment. Millions tune in to marvel at Gordon Ramsay abusing lousy chefs and second-rate restaurateurs. Kitchen Nightmares USA has replaced boxing as a top combat sport – it’s unmissable. Even better, the hapless Yanks Ramsay abuses pathetically call him Chef Ramsay as they snivel into their sleeves and take the public dressing-down as a life-enhancing experience.
Every episode ends with these pitiful people thanking Ramsay, pictured, for ranting at them about their appalling cooking, their filthy kitchens and their poor interpersonal skills. It’s the modern equivalent of the Papal Inquisition, but instead of thumb-screws we have profanities galore, and instead of heretics, chefs who resort to the microwave and frozen ingredients.

More Wraps for Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares

Do you like to eat? – RantRave | Published Opinion. – Lynnwood,WA,USA
Now, anyone who knows me, knows that one of my passions is culinary arts. So I watch a lot of shows related to that interest. One such show is Gordon Ramsay’s “Kitchen Nightmares.” Why? Because, if you really watch it, and absorb it, you realize that this show is, most the time, about fixing more than just a failing restaurant.

Now, I know how show-biz works, Ramsay is probably the most successful restaurateur on the planet, and deity among chefs, but he’s not a psychologist. Great motivator, but not a psychologist. I’m sure he has a huge stable of advisers for the show, but still…

In another hint of a new series of Gordon Ramsay’s best television show – Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares, that is my hope and dream on the back of news of a revisit happening in April.

We know that at least two Kitchen Nightmares episodes became the Great British Nightmare as part of Channel 4′s Great British Food Fight and we can only hope more episodes were filmed. We now know that Gordon Ramsay will be returnng to see how Raz and The Curry Lounge are shaping up.

In an article on the ‘This is Nottingham’ website more is revealed about the process of getting Gordon Ramsay to come to the restaurant and the changes that were made.

Great British Nightmare Wasn’t for One Gordon Ramsay Benefactor

Author: Gordon Ramsay Unofficial Fansite  //  Category: Main Content

All of the talk to date has been about the number of swear words – very few people have commented about the show itself or the outcomes – to hard to build a bridge??

Well here is the story of one Restaurant that face the wrath of Chef Gordon Ramsay and it seems, now, has come out a winner. Martin’s Bistro , well mainly the father and chef copped a hiding from Gordon Ramsay during the great British Nightmare and was on the end of at least 30 F-bombs from yours truly during the now infamous show that aired a few weeks ago.

Here’s a few choice quotes from this article – Nightmare Becomes A Dream

BUSINESS has been far from sleepy for one Okehampton restaurant — it has enjoyed a flow of customers since celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay came to town.
And since the top chef visited the bistro in Red Lion Yard the business has turned around — a new chef has been taken on and only fresh, home-made produce is used.
‘We do still use Gordon’s menus but most are our own, which we are really proud of and our customers seem to love.’
‘There is a calmer atmosphere since it was decided that Mick was to stay out of the kitchen.’
The bistro has taken on a new chef, Rose Drake-Davis, and has seen a marked improvement, continuing to impress customers with its home-made menus and local produce.
But there was a clear personality clash between Ramsay and Mick Martin, who said the London-based chef ‘always likes to come out on top’.
But Mick, 57, added: ‘My wife loves him to bits because he is passionate about food. I respect him for what he taught my daughter and helped her.
‘He could see she had talent — I know I am not a fantastic cook.’

Check out the article, it is a great read, done as only locals can!

Channel 9 Promotes Gordon Ramsay – I mean Censors Him

Author: Gordon Ramsay Unofficial Fansite  //  Category: Main Content

After such a ridiculous outcry last year about Gordon Ramsay swearing on the first series of the US Kitchen Nightmares in Australia- it’s seems Channel 9 are trying a little more of the same unusual promotion Kitchen Nightmares announcing that it will require an MA rating along with another show Underbelly.

Last year, it made wordlwide headlines when Gordon Ramsay dropped the F word some sixty or seventy times (they didn’t mention dropping the C word, which is why I suspect it was Channel 9 and not outraged viewers). Lots of press and now it seems, the day before the new series of kitchen nightmares aires – an announcement is made about censorship.

I’m sure it is more than a co-incidnece that the two shows mentioned were both Channel 9 shows – no doubt there will be news stories and follow-ups on their ‘current affairs (infomercial/cross promotion)’ show as well!

Anyway, Season 2 of Kitchen Nightmares USA starts in Australia tonight – do yourself a favour watch it, but try to acquire Gordon Ramsay’s Great British Nightmare. It is two UK episodes of Kitchen Nightmares mixed into one and is causing a sensation with over 300 swear words. Once again, turn it off or shut up – it’s not like you don’t know what you are in for!

Gordon Ramsay’s Great British Nightmare was F@#%king Excellent!

Author: Gordon Ramsay Unofficial Fansite  //  Category: Main Content

Wow, some Brits turned on Gordon Ramsay’s show and didn’t like the swearing, what did the F%#$wits expect? Apparently Great British Nightmares featured 243 F-words and 312 swear words and I F%#$king loved it. It was also great to see it appeared on the torrents within hours of screening, so the rest of the world could get their dose of QUALITY Gordon Ramsay programming!

After putting up with the crappy Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares US version, this programme, which was essentially two Kitchen Nightmares Episodes mixed together (with real follow-ups as the UK version usually does!).

That’s right, I loved the $h!t out of it – clasic Gordon, he really cares, puts in 100% effort and does eveything he can – lots of great ideas and messages for restaurant and business owners alike! He so often seems more passionate than the business owners themselves and more often ready to put the hard work in!

Some of the swearing stats include:
F-word was used 240 times
312 swear words in 103 minutes – that’s one every 20 seconds
37 obscenities in 95 seconds…one every two and-a-half seconds.
The first F-word 31 seconds into the show
Complaints from 49 viewers who rang Channel 4
In the two-hour show Ramsay swore 243 times, 187 of them using the F-word.
The chefs and restaurant owners swore 69 times
The worst swearing comes 29 minutes into the show after Ramsay tells restaurant boss Justin Rowntree where he is going wrong.

When Justin doesn’t accept the criticism, his childhood pal Richie Russell – the restaurant’s chef – explodes in a 95-second outburst, telling Justin to listen to what Ramsay is saying.

At the height of hypocrisy, one newspaper printed many of the ‘offensive’ exchanges – how can you be outraged and then replace a few letters with other characters and think that is ok?

Here is quote from the article; the chef (not Gordon Ramsay strangely enough, which seems to contradict their position!) to the business owner and best friend.

“He says: “You’ve got to cut the f***ing bulls***. Why the f***are you still trying to make out you’ve f***ing got something when the f***ing, when the damage has been done.

“We already look like a couple f***ing t*ts so shut your f***ing mouth and f***ing listen. If you tried to turn it around at 2pm today me and him are f***ing off.

“I ain’t f***ing staying here. Just cut the f***ing crap to turn things around.

“He’s here to f***ing turn it round. You can do it without me or f***ing with me because I’ve had enough of

this f***ing charade because I don’t need this f***ing s***.

“I’ve got to stand next to him and show my tubs of f***ing s*** that I’m f***ing cooking. You’re f***ing… you’re not f***ing listening to him, he’s trying to f***ing tell you.

“I’ve tried to tell you for two years about every f***ing thing. Food, bands, and I told you that, but you don’t f***ing understand so show him some f***ing respect or else I’m f***ing going at 2pm that’s the… f*** it, that’s it, no f***ing bull****.

“F***ing dangle me like a f***ing puppet. Don’t take the f***ing p*** out of me any more. F*** this s***.”

Richie storms off and Ramsay says: “The dynamics of the top tier of your business is f***ed.”

Then he comforts Richie, telling him: “F***ing hell… well you got that off your chest.”

Just reporting the news Sunday Mirror – what bullsh!t
