Just a quick note to tell everyone to watch Late night with Conan O’Brien on NBC tonight as Gordon Ramsay will be his guest – promoting the book just released in North America (and a year old everywhere else!) Gordon Ramsay’s Healthy Appetite

This much anticipated interview aired a few hours ago and amazingly the CBC website share the videos and don’t limit viewing to the regions in which they are aired – thank you!

Gordon answers a number of questions about when he will be opening his restaurant in Canada (it will be in one of two sites in Toronto) and his kids watching his television shows. Gordon Ramsay did include in his standard sledging of UK chefs (naming animals from the F-word after them) and spoke about not attaching his name to some pre-packaged food products – money isn’t everything!

I think the host went on a little too much about cooking for the British and Russian Prime Ministers, but they also covered Gordon Ramsay’s upcoming physical tests – 10th London marathon next month, 5th Comrades in South Africa and his first Ironman in September (Please Gordon, hit the gym – it’s too much cardio – especially if you are planning to keep ripping your shirt off in every television show!).

Gordon Ramsay had something to say about the recent infidelity claims and scandal – firstly bagging out open cheque (check) journalism, the exagerrated stories it inspires and living life in the fishbowl but did comment that for legal reasons he couldn’t go into details specifically about the story!

George and Gordon didn’t suceed in getting through his very fun segments 2/20, which is supposed to be 20 questions in two minutes (i doubt he ever does with interesting guests!

Gordon also spoke passionately about using local produce (recurring theme in many shows and interviews) and probably spoke more about the F-word (which is currently airing in Canada) than the book that he was on the show to promote Gordon Ramsay’s healthy Appetite.

In relation to the “how long would it take him to swear” competition – I think this one will have to go to the judges – if ‘Christ’ and ‘Jesus Christ’ count it was about two minutes and five seconds – if not at about three minutes 57 seconds ‘arse’ was dropped in relation to the pigs he raised for The F-Word.

They came to see the real Gordon Ramsay, and the British celebrity chef did not disappoint.

Wearing his signature, form-fitting black T-shirt and designer jeans, the 42-year-old chef let a few choice expletives fly, titillating his fans – a few of them definitely under the minimum age of 18 for an R-rating.

When interviewer and restaurateur Peter Oliver asked Ramsay if he allowed cellphones in his restaurants, the chef said patrons are asked to leave them at the front desk.

“Anyone who walks into my restaurant and has a telephone on the table I shove it up their a– sideways,” he said at last night’s on-stage interview at the Toronto Reference Library, sponsored by The Cookbook Store.
