Just as Gordon Ramsay has advised others to do for the past few years in Kitchen Nightmares, he now has his own little scheme to beat the credit crunch back home in the UK.

Michelin Star 2009 List Leaked – Gordon Ramsay Murano a Winner

Author: Gordon Ramsay Unofficial Fansite  //  Category: Main Content

I came across the link via the Guardian newspaper in the UK and quickly perused the list to see if anything from the Gordon Ramsay Holding’s empire han scored.

The only one I recognised by name was Murano, a Gordon Ramsay Restaurant run by his protege (sorry, came work out how to put the funny things over the both e’s) Angela Harnett.

I’m not sure if this elevates Gordon Ramsay in the ‘who has the most Michelin stars’ stakes, but another one can’t hurt!

Gordon Ramsay Found in South Africa

Author: Gordon Ramsay Unofficial Fansite  //  Category: Main Content

While other reports have sighted Gordon Ramsay in Los Angeles prerparing for the latest season Of Kitchen Nightmares USA (and been trashing him about his alleged fake tan and lighter coloured hair – such important topics!) the real news is Gordon Ramsay in South Africa.

As part of the ever expanding Gordon Ramsay Holdings – the latest edition of the restaurant MAZE, will be opening in Capetown. It will be part of the ‘One and Only’ Resort and feature the now almost-standard Chef’s Table. We can only wonder if it will follow the Gordon Ramsay theme of featuring ‘local produce’ and if so, exactly what that would be (insert least favourite African animal here!)?

No rumours yet surrounding a Hell’s Kitchen show, as there is around the Australian version of Maze in 2010, but since doora are apparently opening on May 1 of this year, I figure not even Gordon Ramsay himself could pull that one off!

The notoriously slow official Gordon Ramsay Fansite has no mention of the restaurant, under the restaurant section, nor under the news section – the latest news is from November talking about bookings for New Years Eve!

Caterersearch.com was the source of most of this information and had an official comment about plans for further opening of ‘Maze’ restaurants across Europe and Australasia that are currently in negotiations!

So if you are in Capetown after May 1, get down to the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront and get your taste of Gordon Ramsay – South African Style!

Is this the end for Gordon Ramsay’s (J) Willy?

Author: Gordon Ramsay Unofficial Fansite  //  Category: Main Content

Right on the heels of my previous posting about a failure of (another) Gordon Ramsay Restaurant – from Kitchen Nightmares in the UK that is, (see Another Gordon Ramsay Lover Goes Under) comes dire news of a similar vein in the US.

It seems that J Willy’s BBQ House, may be closing up at the end of January unless a buyer can be found. J Willy’s had apparently been up for sale at the time of airing of the show (they are now looking for a partner) and once again ,the cause seems to be the global credit crisis. According to the local newspaper, the South Bend Tribune, (follow the link here) the business will be taken off the market at the end of January.

At that point, who knows what will happen to the made-over restaurant and the interesting BBQ Sauce (side) business that resulted from input by Gordon Ramsay? Around the time of the show airing, I remember seeing the owner promoting the episode on the Fox forums, inviting people to the restaurant for the (long-delayed) screening and plugging to death the BBQ sauce.

Well it may be plugged for the last time at the end of January, we will wait and see.
