I found it strange that Gordon Ramsay spoke to The News of The World (since they spend most of their time trashing him) and also that they said Gordon was the father of three in the intro and then listed the names of his four kids halfway through!

Highlight of the interview were the insight into Gordon Ramsay’s new cookbook from the latest season of the F Word, called Gordon Ramsay’s World Kitchen. Gordon said that the series and the book was all about “was getting really good ethnic food, fantastic Indian recipes, Chinese and Thai recipes, fantastic French food and putting these ideas together… Fantastic curries, fantastic Pad Thai, great Chinese food, simple French cooking and then the modern British aspect.”

In an article on the Business week website (much more reliable than and English Tabloid!) Gordon Ramsay talks candidly about how bad the last year had been financially, amazing considering how bad 2008 was for him!

In fact, the reality is that Gordon Ramsay’s troubles in 2009 flowed over directly from 2008 and opening eight restaurtants just prior to the global economic crisis (note: owning the restaurants – not just consulting like some of his contempories). This is the story of how Gordon Ramsay Holdings was advised to consolidate their debts and file for bankrupcy – something which Gordon said he would not agree to! Gordon spent the first 3 months of filming Hell’s Kitchen in the USA and then hours at night on the phone with business partner and father-in-law Chris Hutcheson, not to mention early morning runs to ‘burn off the stress!’.

The story also summaries Gordon Ramsay’s current status – twenty restuarants worldwide, five international television shows, twenty three cookbooks (and two biographies) in eighteen languages plus multiple endorsements.

Gordon Ramsay is back for a fifth season with one of his most popular television series – The F Word in November.

As with seasons past, competitors will be cooking in his kitchen each week and this year, hoping to make the final for a yet unknown prize. These competitors will be made up of chefs and owners from top restaurants (as voted by the public) for the past few months. This ‘support your local restaurant’ theme has been popular with Gordon Ramsay in years past and never more than during the current ‘credit crunch’ and will no doubt give some struggling restaurants some much needed publicity and highly qualified referrals. Gordon Ramsay has launched his latest cookbook, following a long and successful line of cookbooks that have come from previous version of his hit television show The F Word. This one will be no different and reflects the diverse cooking styles that featured throughout season four of this latest hit and rather more subdued television show.
