We all know Chef Gordon Ramsay from Kitchen Nightmares and Hell’s Kitchen, but he’s trying something new on Dec. 15 and his producers are looking for people to participate.

Think of Gordon Ramsay Cookalong Live as a live nation-wide cooking class.

Twenty-four people from across the country will cook with Ramsay via webcams set up in their home kitchens. The show will feature Ramsay as amicable teacher instead of the usual fire breathing monster.

The two dozen home cooks chosen to participate must submit an application and short video in order to be considered. Cooks at all skill levels will be considered. A similar show has already aired in Great Britain. You can watch a YouTube video of the show by clicking here.

Viewers who don’t want to get in on the video chat can simply cook along from home. In the weeks leading up to the show, home chefs will be told what ingredients and equipment they’ll need to buy in advance of Dec. 15. That information will be available on a special Fox TV Web site as well as on Facebook and MySpace.

Casting is happening quickly.

AUDITION VIDEO SUBMISSION: Please prepare a video of yourself and your cooking
group in accordance with the Audition Video Submission Guidelines attached to this
application and a photo of yourself and your cooking group in the kitchen. The video must
be sent to us on miniDV or DVD, along with your photo, application and the signed
statement and release for each participant, and postmarked by November 16, 2009.
